Golden Safari Collection.
We sat in a jeep in Kenya and watched this teenage Lion raise an eye to check us out and then decide that his nap was more important than paying us attention. I loved the confidence and relaxed manner always knowing how powerful the young Lion was and could be in an instant.
My challenge was following the less is more motto, when it came to the drawing. I love the outcome and can picture this adding a wonderful relaxed feel to any room its in.

I wanted to viewer to feel that the animals were truly part of the landscape, their natural habitat- unfiltered. So, I played with spray paint and acrylic paint until I got the background I wanted and from there decided to add the animal simply and directly with professional pens. After that came the gold leaf just to emphasise the rich gold in front of us; that of the landscape and animal itself, we must protect.
